The demand for GPU packaging PCBs has surged, and Nvidia Blackwell is marching towards brutal expansion.
According to the financial news app Zhitong, a research report recently released by the Wall Street investment giant Bank of America shows that the operating profit of Ibiden's electronic component business, a leading semiconductor packaging equipment company based in Japan, is expected to achieve a compound annual growth rate (CAGR) of 35% in the next five years. The report also significantly raised the EPS expectations for the fiscal year ending in 2028. The main reason is that the demand for GPU packaging substrates (i.e. advanced ABF packaging substrates) provided by Ibiden for the large-scale expansion of AI chip production capacity continues to show explosive growth, driving a significant increase in both quantity and price of ABF.
