US-EU tariff negotiations enter the final countdown: Trump's threat of a 50% tariff increases the risk of a trade war.
According to the Zhitong Finance and Economics APP, the current global trade focus is on the key negotiations between the United States and Europe. With only a few days left until the deadline for the United States to impose tariffs on EU goods, the two sides have not yet reached a consensus on a trade agreement. Under the "reciprocal tariff" 90-day grace period set by US President Trump, if an agreement is not reached before July 9, goods exported from the EU to the US may face tariffs of up to 50%. The EU's previously suspended retaliatory measures against US goods may also be implemented.
