Thailand describes tariff negotiations with the United States as progressing smoothly.

Thai Finance Minister Preedee Dawane said that the first ministerial-level talks between Thailand and the United States on tariff issues are progressing smoothly, and added that an improved proposal is being prepared as the country seeks to reach an agreement before the deadline next week. He said that after meeting with US Trade Representative Katherine Tai and Deputy Treasury Secretary Michael Hsu on Thursday, Thailand was able to better understand what the United States wants. He also met with American companies with long-term investments in Thailand, as well as groups in the agricultural commodities sector.
