New regulations on Douyin: Individuals under the age of 16 are prohibited from appearing in live broadcasts.

On July 4th, it was reported that Douyin has launched the special action of "Building a Civilized Live Stream together in 2025 Summer for Minors", explicitly prohibiting minors under the age of 16 from appearing in live broadcasts. In addition, minors aged 16 to under 18 who want to start broadcasting must obtain written consent from their parents or guardians. If anyone violates this regulation, their account's live streaming privileges will be revoked by the platform.
