European Central Bank President Christine Lagarde said on Friday that the Eurozone inflation rate is at 2%, and the ECB has achieved price stability, and will continue to do so at all costs. In an interview on the morning program of German national television station ARD, Lagarde reiterated her position, stating that maintaining price stability is "our determination, our commitment, our responsibility." She said, "We have achieved our goal, with inflation falling to 2%, and we will continue to maintain this result. We are committed to achieving the 2% goal, and as the saying goes - we will do whatever it takes to ensure that inflation remains at this level." She promised, "Despite the uncertainties and unpredictabilities around us, we will maintain certainty and stability in terms of prices." She specifically noted that trade conflicts are "one of the main sources of uncertainty." When asked about the possibility of the Euro replacing the US dollar, she once again called for strengthening the resilience of the Eurozone economy. However, she mentioned that the potential rise of the Euro would take "a long time." Lagarde emphasized that the European Central Bank is currently in a "favorable position".
