Ministry of Water Resources: Will comprehensively build a water-saving system policy system.

Wu Wenqing, chief planner of the Ministry of Water Resources, stated at a press conference held by the State Council Information Office that the next step for the Ministry of Water Resources will be to use further comprehensive deepening of reform as a driving force to comprehensively build a water-saving institutional policy system. Specifically, in terms of increasing water efficiency in agriculture, five institutional systems will be established and improved, including scientific irrigation system, water measurement monitoring, agricultural water price policy, water-saving market system, and water-saving technology and services. In terms of water-saving and emission reduction in industry, five institutional systems will be established and improved, including quota management, precision measurement, recycling, water rights trading, and water-saving industry development. In terms of reducing water loss in urban areas, five institutional systems will be established and improved, including water budget management, water price and water resource tax management, contract water saving management, recycled water utilization management, and water-saving society management.
