Wang Yi: Rare earths will not become an issue between China and Europe.
In response to questions from reporters about European companies' concerns about China's implementation of export controls on rare earths, Wang Yi stated that it is necessary for countries to exercise sovereignty and fulfill international obligations by implementing necessary controls on military and dual-use items. China's policies are in line with international practices and are also beneficial for maintaining world peace and stability. Rare earth exports have never been and should not become an issue between China and Europe. As long as European companies comply with export control regulations and follow necessary procedures, their normal needs will be guaranteed. The relevant Chinese authorities have also set up a "fast track" for European companies, and those who deliberately hype up this issue between China and Europe have ulterior motives.
