Maersk: The average tariff for container imports in the United States is 21%.

The world's second largest shipping company, Maersk, stated that importers are currently paying an actual tariff of 21% on all containerized imported goods entering the United States. Maersk referred to this percentage in its market update report on Wednesday as less than half of the peak average earlier this year. The company said, "According to Maersk's container weighted average actual tariff rate indicator, the current actual average tariff rate paid by businesses on all US imported goods is approximately 21%. Shortly after April 2nd, during the peak period, the average actual tariff rate was 54%."
