The Baltic Dry Index has fallen for the seventh consecutive day.
On Thursday, the Baltic Dry Index fell for the seventh consecutive day, with a decrease in demand for Capesize vessels. The Baltic Dry Index dropped 9 points, or 0.6%, to 1434 points, the lowest level since June 3. The Capesize vessel index slid 64 points, or 3.3%, to 1894 points, the lowest level since May 28. The average daily profit for Capesize vessels decreased by $537 to $15,705. The Panamax vessel index rose 15 points, or 1%, to 1507 points. The average daily profit for Panamax vessels increased by $141 to $13,565. The Supramax vessel index rose 21 points to 1052 points, reaching a high of over seven months.
