"Institutions are now racking their brains to get a seat at the table," a top institutional investor told a reporter from Yicai. The embodied intelligence sector of 2025 is experiencing unprecedented capital enthusiasm. According to IT Orange data, in the first five months of 2025, the financing amount in the robotics field has reached 23.2 billion yuan, exceeding the total of 20.9 billion yuan for the whole of 2024. However, as observed by Liu Tianjie, a director of Huaying Capital, a significant feature of the embodied industry this year is the entry of large industrial investors. Previously, it was normal for internet companies such as Meituan, ByteDance, Alibaba, and Tencent to invest in the industry, but the entry of large manufacturing industry investors such as BYD and CATL is quite exaggerated. Liu Tianjie told the reporter that in the early stages, when the technology has not been fully validated and commercialization has not yet been achieved, the decision to enter the industry indicates that these large manufacturing enterprises also have their strategic considerations. On one hand, institutions are eager to enter the market and invest amounts far exceeding the expectations of invested companies; however, on the other hand, entrepreneurs in the embodied industry generally feel that their valuations are underestimated. This contradiction reflects the unique development stage of China's embodied intelligence industry, and if we broaden our perspective to the prospect of a trillion-dollar industry, perhaps this is just the prelude to the storm.
