According to the Beijing Municipal Administration for Market Regulation, the first local standard in the country for administrative mediation services for consumer disputes, the "Standard for Administrative Mediation Services for Consumer Disputes in the Field of Market Regulation," will be officially implemented on October 1, 2025. This standard is aimed at addressing the differences in procedures and increased costs in cross-regional consumer protection, requiring mediation to be completed within 60 days from the date of complaint acceptance. The standard specifies requirements for organizations, personnel, methods, and time limits. Mediation can be conducted onsite or remotely, and the time limit for completion is 60 days from the date of complaint acceptance, with time for appraisal and testing not included in the calculation.
