Beijing plans to stipulate that individuals who sublet 10 or more properties as "second landlords" will be included in the industry regulation.
In order to further regulate the housing rental behavior, protect the legitimate rights and interests of rental parties, the Beijing Municipal Commission of Housing and Urban-Rural Development, together with the Municipal Market Supervision Bureau and other relevant departments, have drafted the "Notice on Regulating the Activities of individuals Engaging in Housing Subleasing" based on the "Beijing Municipal Housing Rental Regulations" and other relevant laws and regulations, starting from July 3, openly soliciting opinions from the public. According to the "Notice", individuals who sublease 10 or more housing units will be included in industry regulation.
