Two people have died in France due to the heatwave.
French commercial FM TV reported on the morning of July 2nd that the country is currently experiencing a severe heatwave, with 2 people confirmed by officials to have died directly from the high temperatures. The TV station cited the words of French Minister of Ecological Transition, Biodiversity, Forests, Oceans and Fisheries, Annick Girardin, reporting that 2 people in France have died directly from the heatwave, with over 300 people receiving emergency assistance. The report also stated that the le-de-France region, where Paris is located, has accommodated over 500 people in "extremely dangerous" conditions, as "in this extreme heat, without shelter, there could be fatal consequences."
