Power bank storage fee of 20 yuan per day is being questioned as "too expensive", Guangzhou Baiyun Airport: Fees are unified with luggage storage.
The Civil Aviation Administration recently issued an emergency notice, starting from June 28, passengers are prohibited from carrying power banks without a 3C mark, with unclear 3C marks, or with models or batches that have been recalled on domestic flights. Currently, Guangzhou Baiyun Airport provides a storage service for power banks, but there have been criticisms from the public that the fee of 20 yuan per day is "too expensive." In response, on July 2, the baggage storage service staff at Guangzhou Baiyun Airport replied that storage of power banks on June 28 was free, but if not retrieved within 7 days, it will be considered as "abandoned." Starting from midnight on June 29, a fee of 20 yuan per day will be charged for storage of power banks. "The charging standards for all baggage storage have been predetermined, and there are clear criteria based on the size, number of items, and time of storage. For example, for items with a size of 0-30 cm, the fee is 20 yuan per day," said the staff member mentioned above.
