According to Science and Technology Daily, on July 2nd, the core component of the world's first impulse turbine with a single unit capacity of 500 megawatts and the largest wheel diameter of 6.23 meters was successfully developed and delivered, marking a historic breakthrough in China's core equipment field for high-head, large-capacity impulse turbines. The wheel was independently developed by Harbin Electric Corporation Limited Harbin Electric Motor Factory, and will be used in the Zara Hydropower Station in Tibet. The Zara Hydropower Station is a key project of the national "transmitting Tibetan electricity" program and the world's most complex under-construction impulse hydroelectric project. The station will install two 500 MW impulse units, the largest single-unit capacity and highest technical difficulty in the world, and it is also the first major technical equipment project in the energy sector approved by the National Energy Administration.
