On July 1st, local time, the French Civil Aviation Authority has requested all airlines to cancel a quarter of flights at Paris's main airports on July 4th, the first day of the strike by air traffic controllers. This strike, initiated by the second and third largest air traffic controllers' unions in France, will have a serious impact on local airports. The French Civil Aviation Authority also stated that flights from Nice (France's third largest airport) and the airports in Bastia and Calvi on the island of Corsica will be reduced by half.
