The National Disaster Reduction and Relief Commission has initiated a national Level IV emergency response for the recent severe flooding in Guizhou province. They have sent a work team to the disaster area to inspect the situation on the ground, and to provide guidance and assistance to local authorities in ensuring the basic living needs of the affected population and carrying out disaster relief work.
