Data from Beijing Xinfadi official website also shows that the average wholesale price of lemons rose from 3.75 yuan per half kilogram on April 14 to 5.5 yuan per half kilogram on April 15, and further increased to 8 yuan per half kilogram on April 28. In just half a month, it increased by 113%. "Global lemon production is expected to decrease by about 6% by 2025, especially due to unfavorable weather conditions during the flowering period in Turkey and Argentina, resulting in a significant decrease in lemon production," said Zhao Junye, chief analyst of the fruit variety at the Market Analysis and Early Warning Team of the Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Affairs.
