The price of lemons has soared by 300%.

Due to extreme weather conditions, the main lemon producing areas have generally reduced production in the past two years. Tariff adjustments in international trade, as well as the cost and loss rate of cold chain transportation, have caused lemon prices, especially high-quality lemons, to reach historic highs. Taking lemons from Anyue, Sichuan as an example, prices have increased 3-5 times compared to the same period last year. Even the cheapest lemon water at roadside beverage shops now sells for 5 yuan, with some shops adding cucumber slices and selling it for 20 yuan. Some beverage shops have already started preparing to temporarily remove lemon water from their menu in order to weather the price increase before making a decision.
