After an earthquake, a house in Haizhu, Guangzhou is leaning. Relevant department is urgently dealing with the situation and arranging accommodation for residents.
According to the Guangzhou Daily, around 8 p.m. on June 23rd, a building at 22 Guangjiao South 2nd Lane, Longtan Village, Haizhu District, appeared to be leaning due to the impact of an earthquake. The relevant departments and streets of the district quickly arrived on the scene to deal with the situation. First, they immediately organized the evacuation and proper resettlement of the residents in the building; second, they cut off power and cordoned off the building to prevent people from entering; third, designated personnel were on duty in shifts for 24 hours to strengthen regional vigilance; fourth, they arranged for professional testing and appraisal organizations to conduct on-site testing and safety appraisal of the building overnight. The current test results show that the changes in the building are relatively small, there are no signs of continued development, and there are no obvious crack marks at the scene. They will continue to strengthen safety monitoring and take further action based on the test results and appraisals.
