Two CBA foreign players were found to have violated doping regulations, and the Chinese Basketball Association responded.
On June 24, the Chinese Basketball Association issued a statement, noting that the China Anti-Doping Agency had publicly displayed information on doping violations on June 23. It was revealed that during the routine doping tests conducted by the Anti-Doping Agency in April 2025, on behalf of the Chinese Basketball Association Sports Co., Ltd., in the CBA League games, foreign players Montrezl Dashay Harrell and Troy Akeem Gillenwater were found to have committed doping violations. The Chinese Basketball Association takes this matter very seriously and is actively cooperating with the Chinese Anti-Doping Agency to conduct an investigation. At the same time, we are aware that the athletes involved have the right to request a hearing. Therefore, after the Chinese Anti-Doping Agency makes the final determination, the Chinese Basketball Association will strictly adhere to the Anti-Doping Rules and other relevant regulations to take action against the violators.
