The "Global Tobacco Epidemic Report 2025" released by the World Health Organization on the 23rd says that tobacco control measures proposed by the WHO have already covered over 6.1 billion people worldwide, but further action is needed to advance tobacco control. According to the WHO website, the report was released at the World Conference on Tobacco or Health held in the Irish capital, Dublin, that day. The report focuses on the implementation of the MPOWER package of tobacco control measures proposed by the WHO, which include: monitoring tobacco use and prevention policies, protecting people from tobacco smoke harm through smoke-free air legislation, providing smoking cessation assistance, warning of tobacco dangers through packaging labels and mass media, enforcing bans on tobacco advertising, promotion, and sponsorship, and increasing tobacco taxes.
