According to reports from Agence France-Presse and The Guardian, British Prime Minister Stamer announced on the 23rd local time that the UK has committed to increasing its defense expenditure to 5% of its Gross Domestic Product (GDP). Stamer stated that this increase is "an opportunity to deepen our commitment to NATO" and set the target year at 2035, in line with the agreement to be announced at the upcoming NATO summit in The Hague, Netherlands. This decision was made in preparation for Stamer's attendance at the NATO summit.
