On June 22, local time, Tesla launched its Robotaxi pilot service in Austin, Texas, USA, with the first batch of ten Model Y vehicles dedicated to Robotaxi service. Passengers will need to pay a fixed fee of $4.2. This means that Tesla's technology route, using vision and end-to-end model, is gradually being validated, and also signifies the acceleration of the commercialization process of Robotaxi. Currently, Robotaxi services worldwide are moving from technology validation to commercial pilot operation phase. Experts interviewed believe that the development of Robotaxi still requires regulatory bodies, vehicle manufacturers, intelligent driving technology companies, and service operators to work together to overcome multiple challenges such as technology, cost, ecology, and policy. Relevant departments need to provide an open and inclusive policy environment for enterprises and accelerate the legislation for autonomous driving to let autonomous driving enterprises truly "take off".
