On June 23rd local time, the US Embassy in Qatar issued a notice advising American citizens in Qatar to take shelter locally as a precaution until further notice. The notice did not provide further detailed explanations. On June 19th, the US Embassy in Qatar issued a notice stating that due to the ongoing tense situation in the region, embassy staff were required to remain vigilant and temporarily restrict access to the US military base in Qatar at Al Udeid.
