The National Federation of Industry and Commerce Automobile Dealers Association has issued a call for automobile manufacturers to optimize rebate policies and shorten the rebate redemption period. Automobile dealers are a typical capital-intensive industry that requires a large amount of capital to purchase vehicles in full from manufacturers every month. According to the association's research data, about 80% of the main selling models currently have a price inversion issue, with the inversion amount generally exceeding 20%. This means that if dealers cannot receive rebates in a timely manner, they will have to advance additional funds. Manufacturers and dealers have a mutually beneficial cooperative relationship and should fully understand the direct impact of timely rebate redemption on dealers. They should come up with practical solutions to solve the long-standing issues of unclear rebate policies, delayed rebate redemption periods, and restricted rebate use faced by dealers. Only in this way can a cooperative ecosystem of mutual trust and mutual benefit be established between manufacturers and dealers, and deeper solutions to the "inward competition" issue in the automotive industry can be found. Therefore, the association makes the following appeals to all automobile manufacturers: 1. Establish clear and distinct rebate policies. Simplify rebate structures, clarify rebate standards, and eliminate ambiguous rebates. In particular, manufacturers should adjust various types of non-fixed rebates given to dealers to compensate for losses caused by price inversion based on market conditions, allowing dealers to have clear and calculable standards with expectations. 2. Shorten the rebate redemption period. Among the surveyed automobile brands, 18 brands already have rebate redemption periods of less than 30 days, demonstrating their social responsibility and brand image. Considering the importance of rebates to dealers, it is recommended that all brands adjust their rebate redemption periods to not exceed 30 days. 3. Do not impose excessive restrictions on rebate redemption and use. Among the surveyed automobile brands, 9 brands directly return rebates to dealers in cash, allowing dealers to freely use them. It is recommended that all brands return rebates to dealers in cash and ensure that dealers can freely use them, without imposing overly stringent redemption conditions.
