Journalists investigating found that some manufacturers openly sell the chaotic phenomenon of "alcohol blending with liquor". In the tasting hall of Maotai Distillery, the person in charge, Manager Wang, admitted that their private label "Huayu Old Sauce Liquor" clearly marked on the outer box as "brewed with pure grains, solid-state fermentation", but actually filled with blended alcohol products. Manager Wang said that not only can they provide testing reports for alcohol-blended liquor, but also claimed that their products can evade alcohol content testing. Taking advantage of the loophole in some products being able to evade alcohol content testing, Manager Wang massively pushed these illegally produced "alcohol-blended liquor" into the market. Despite repeated orders from the national and local authorities, Manager Wang stated that many operators still took risks and produced and sold them illegally driven by high profits.
