After the United States launched airstrikes on three nuclear facilities in Iran and Tehran vowed retaliation, British Airways suspended flights to Dubai and Doha, further exacerbating aviation chaos in the Persian Gulf region. According to data from Flightradar24, the London-based airline canceled multiple flights to Dubai and rerouted two planes flying to the emirate during the night. Flight tracking information showed that one flight departed from Heathrow Airport on Saturday night, arrived in Saudi airspace early Sunday morning, and then diverted to Zurich; while another plane heading to Dubai returned to Heathrow Airport after flying to Egypt. Due to operational restrictions and airspace control, British Airways also canceled flights to the Qatari capital of Doha on Sunday and suspended flights to Bahrain until the end of the month. Last week, following Israeli airstrikes on Iran, several American and European airlines had already suspended flights to the UAE and Qatar.
