Hunan Province: A total of 5747 legally notifiable infectious diseases were reported in May.

On June 19th, the Hunan Provincial Center for Disease Control and Prevention announced the report on statutory infectious disease outbreaks in May 2025. In May 2025, a total of 57,476 cases of statutory infectious diseases were reported in the province, with 100 deaths. There were no reported cases of illness or death for Class A infectious diseases. Among Class B infectious diseases, there were no reported cases of illness or death for infectious atypical pneumonia, poliomyelitis, human infection with highly pathogenic avian influenza, epidemic encephalitis B, anthrax, epidemic meningitis, diphtheria, neonatal tetanus, schistosomiasis, and human infection with H7N9 avian influenza. The remaining 18 types of Class B infectious diseases reported a total of 44,139 cases of illness, with 100 reported deaths. The top 5 reported diseases in terms of illness were novel coronavirus infection, viral hepatitis, pulmonary tuberculosis, syphilis, and scarlet fever, accounting for 98% of the total reported cases of Class B infectious diseases. Class C infectious diseases reported a total of 13,337 cases of illness with no reported deaths. The top 3 reported diseases in terms of illness were other infectious diarrheal diseases, hand-foot-and-mouth disease, and influenza, accounting for 95% of the total reported cases of Class C infectious diseases.
