According to a report from the National Institute of Geophysics in Ecuador, a magnitude 5.6 earthquake occurred in Naranjal, Guayas Province in central Ecuador at 2:18 pm local time on June 21st, with a depth of 45.5 kilometers. The quake was felt in surrounding areas and the Gulf of Guayaquil.
