Ma Ying-jeou led a delegation to visit Gansu: Cross-Strait joint worship of Fuxi, searching for roots and paying respects to ancestors.

Ma Ying-jeou, who is currently on a roots-finding visit to Gansu with a group of Taiwanese youth, participated in the 2025 Memorial Ceremony of Fuxi held in Tianshui, Gansu this morning. Song Tao, Director of the Taiwan Affairs Office of the Central Committee of the Communist Party of China and the Taiwan Affairs Office of the State Council, and Ma Ying-jeou jointly presented a flower basket to the statue of Fuxi. Ma Ying-jeou stated that most Taiwanese people have a strong belief in Chinese culture and national identity, and that it is extraordinary to be able to bring young people from Taiwan to Tianshui, Gansu to pay tribute to the human ancestor Fuxi in person. Ma Ying-jeou said: "To remember the past and always remember the origins is an important root of the excellent traditions of the Chinese nation for thousands of years, and it is also the core value of Chinese culture. I also hope that young people from both sides of the strait can, through the solemn ceremony of worshiping the human ancestor of Chinese culture, further cooperate and create a better future for the Chinese nation together."
