The special action "Clear and Rectify AI Technology Abuse" launched by the Cyberspace Administration of China since April 2025 has focused on the rampant abuse of AI technology such as AI face-swapping and voice simulation infringing on the public's rights, as well as the lack of AI content identification leading to misleading the public. It has made significant progress in advancing the key rectification tasks of the first phase, deploying local cyberspace administrations to increase the disposal of illegal AI products, cut off channels for marketing illegal products, urge key website platforms to improve technical security measures, and accelerate the implementation of content identification for generated and synthetic content. In the first phase, over 3,500 illegal AI products such as mini programs, applications, and intelligent agents were disposed of, more than 960,000 pieces of illegal information were cleaned up, and over 3,700 accounts were dealt with. Various tasks have made positive progress.
