HSBC analyst Paul Mackel stated in a report that due to the uncertainty of US policies, there is still room for the US dollar to depreciate further moderately. He said, "We are skeptical that the future situation will stabilize because there are still many trade negotiations in progress and many agreements lack detail." He also pointed out that US fiscal policy is another major uncertainty, especially the issue of potentially taxing global investors. At the same time, structural de-dollarization is showing increasingly important signs. However, he expressed that although the trend of de-dollarization may continue, it is not easy to achieve this when other currencies have weaknesses such as weak growth and low yields. HSBC expects the euro to rise from the current 1.1524 to 1.20 against the US dollar in the fourth quarter.
