Foreign Ministry spokesman Guo Jiakun presided over the routine press conference on June 20. A reporter asked: The Democratic Progressive Party authorities claimed that 46 mainland military aircraft flew over the Taiwan Strait in the past 24 hours. Why did the mainland dispatch so many military aircraft? Is this related to the previous incident of Japanese warships passing through the Taiwan Strait or American lawmakers visiting Taiwan? Guo Jiakun stated that the Taiwan issue concerns China's sovereignty and territorial integrity. China respects the right of all countries to navigate in relevant waters of the Taiwan Strait in accordance with the law, but firmly opposes any country using "freedom of navigation" as an excuse to provoke and threaten China's sovereignty and security.
