Ministry of Foreign Affairs responds to questions from foreign media on Taiwan issue: DPP authorities are once again riding on a hot topic.
Foreign Ministry spokesperson Guo Jiakun presided over the routine press conference on June 20. During the conference, a Reuters reporter asked: "Lai Ching-teh on Thursday requested the defense department to monitor 'spy activities' from mainland China. What is your comment on this?" Guo Jiakun responded by saying that the Democratic Progressive Party (DPP) authorities are once again riding on a hot topic. No matter what they say or do, they cannot change the fact that Taiwan is a part of China, and they cannot change the historical trend that China will eventually be unified. Relying on force to seek "independence" is bound to fail.
