Chinese Coast Guard spokesperson Liu Dejun stated that on June 20, the Philippine government vessel 3006 disregarded repeated admonitions and warnings from the Chinese side, insisting on approaching and intruding into the territorial waters of China's Huangyan Island. The Chinese Coast Guard, in accordance with the Coast Guard Law and the Administrative Law Enforcement Procedures of the Coast Guard, gradually took necessary measures such as shouting warnings, shadowing, and using water cannons to drive the Philippine vessel away. The on-site operations were carried out professionally and legally. The actions of the Philippines seriously violate Chinese sovereignty, international law, and relevant Chinese laws. The frequent provocations and disturbances by the Philippine side cannot change the fact that Huangyan Island belongs to China. The Chinese Coast Guard will take all necessary measures in accordance with the law to resolutely defend the country's territorial sovereignty and maritime rights.
