Chairman of the City of London Corporation's Policy and Resources Committee, Harris Hake: Deepening cooperation in the field of financial investment between the UK and London.
"Shenzhen is one of the fastest developing cities in China and even globally, with over 40 Chinese banks and financial institutions in the London financial district." On June 19th, the Chairman of the Policy and Resources Committee of the City of London, Catherine McGuinness, visited Shenzhen. In his view, Shenzhen has developed into an "extraordinary city" in 45 years, with rapid growth in key sectors such as financial services, technology, and manufacturing. McGuinness' trip to China this time includes four cities: Beijing, Shanghai, Shenzhen, and Hong Kong, and this is also his first visit to Shenzhen. "We are now at a time when a new chapter in UK-China bilateral relations is opening, which has been confirmed in the early-year UK-China Economic and Financial Dialogue," McGuinness said, emphasizing the need to translate the dialogue into concrete actions. "Shenzhen and the City of London are both global leaders in finance and innovation. Shenzhen has strong capabilities in green finance and wealth management," McGuinness said, expressing his hope to strengthen close ties between Shenzhen and the City of London, and both places can explore more collaboration opportunities together.
