In May, the total electricity consumption of the whole society was 809.6 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 4.4%. In terms of electricity consumption by industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 11.9 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 8.4%; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 541.4 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 2.1%; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 155 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 9.4%; and the electricity consumption of urban and rural residents' daily life was 101.3 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 9.6%. From January to May, the total electricity consumption of the whole society accumulated to 396.65 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 3.4%, with the electricity consumption of industrial enterprises above a designated size reaching 372.66 billion kilowatt-hours. In terms of electricity consumption by industry, the electricity consumption of the primary industry was 5.43 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 9.6%; the electricity consumption of the secondary industry was 259.14 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 2.2%; the electricity consumption of the tertiary industry was 74.06 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 6.8%; and the electricity consumption of urban and rural residents' daily life was 58.02 billion kilowatt-hours, a year-on-year increase of 3.7%.
