New Zealand's carbon auction ended in failure for the second time this year, failing to attract any bids and resulting in 3 million unsold units. This outcome was not surprising, as the spot price of New Zealand carbon units in the secondary market was much lower than the auction floor price of 68 New Zealand dollars per tonne.
