Chinese Permanent Representative to the United Nations, Fu Cong, spoke at the open debate on "Poverty, Underdevelopment and Conflict" in the Security Council on the 19th, pointing out that poverty and underdevelopment are important root causes of conflict. Many long-standing hot spot issues have not been resolved and a comprehensive solution needs to be proposed from a development perspective.
