The US dollar index surged higher then fell back on Thursday, eventually dropping more than 0.1%.

On Thursday, the ICE Dollar Index fell by 0.14% in New York afternoon trading, hitting a daily low of 98.752 points. It showed an "M" shaped movement throughout the day, rising to a daily high of 99.157 points at 14:32 Beijing time. The Bloomberg Dollar Index dropped by 0.06% to 1209.50 points, also displaying an "M" shaped pattern as it surged to a high before falling back. There was mostly high volatility throughout the day, opening at a low of 1208.96 points at 06:30 and hitting a daily high of 1213.03 points at 14:32.
