Guangdong's Huaiji County suffered from severe flooding disasters, and the local government is making every effort to promote post-disaster reconstruction work.
From June 15th to 19th, Guangdong's Huaiji County in Zhaoqing suffered serious flooding and waterlogging due to continuous heavy rainfall. Multiple towns and streets were severely affected. On the 19th, as the floodwaters gradually receded, the accumulation of sludge on the streets seriously affected the normal life of residents. Local fire and electricity departments are working full force on post-disaster reconstruction. In the hardest-hit areas like Zhongzhou Town and Huaicheng Street, 105 firefighters were divided into 4 groups using high-pressure water guns, shovels, and other tools to comprehensively clean the roads, sidewalks, and residential areas. The team worked in shifts 24 hours a day, adhering to the principle of "when the water recedes, people enter, and clean up as it recedes," ensuring efficient sludge removal work. In addition, since the flooding occurred, there have been instances of water and power outages in the affected areas. The Guangdong Zhaoqing Fire Department urgently dispatched 5 fire water tankers and established a "water delivery team" to transport drinking water to the affected people day and night. When encountering elderly people coming to fetch water, the firefighters took the initiative to deliver the water to their homes. The fire department also reminded residents to promptly carry out disinfection and epidemic prevention measures after the floodwaters receded, and to pay attention to the hygiene and safety of daily drinking water.
