Over 3.4 million people nationwide participated in the "You Order, I Inspect" food safety campaign.
Since the beginning of this year, the State Administration for Market Regulation has launched the national food safety "You Point, I Check" public opinion collection system to benefit the people. As of June 15, approximately 3.4 million consumers have participated in the "You Point, I Check" activity. Consumers are mainly concerned about vegetables and products, meat and meat products, fruits and products, and inspection items such as food additives, pesticides, and veterinary drugs. Statistics show that the market supervision department has conducted inspections on more than 222,000 batches of food items that consumers are concerned about in the "You Point, I Check" campaign, with a non-compliance rate of 2.50%. The non-compliance rates for vegetables and products and fruits and products are 4.35% and 4.59% respectively, mainly due to pesticide residue exceeding standards and food additives like sulfur dioxide being non-compliant. The non-compliance rate for meat and meat products is 0.79%, mainly due to veterinary drug residues exceeding standards and quality indicators like peroxide values being non-compliant. For non-compliant food items found in inspections, the market supervision department promptly conducts verification and disposal, urging food producers and operators to take measures such as removing products from shelves and recalling them to control food safety risks.
