The Indian SENSEX30 index opened down 0.14% at 81334.3 points, with most component stocks falling, including one stock dropping more than 1%. Among the heavyweight stocks, Infosys Technologies fell 0.73%, HDFCBANK fell 0.34%, Tata Consultancy fell 0.33%, Indian Industrial Credit and Investment Corporation fell 0.25%, and Reliance Industries fell 0.14%. On the upside, Bharti Airtel rose 0.45%, and Larsen & Toubro rose 0.12%.
