Chicago wheat futures hit a new high since March, as tensions in Iran forced investors to cover their short positions, while good harvests suppressed coffee prices.

On Wednesday, the Bloomberg Grains Subindex rose by 1.69% in the New York session, closing at 31.8539 points. It maintained a slight increase before the US stock market opened, and accelerated its rise after the market opened. CBOT corn futures rose by 1.14%, closing at $4.4375 per bushel. CBOT wheat futures rose by 4.12%, closing at $5.8950 per bushel. Since the opening of the US stock market, wheat futures have continued to rise, reaching $5.91 at 2:05 Beijing time. CBOT soybean futures fell by 0.11%, closing at $10.6675 per bushel, while soybean meal futures fell by 0.27% and soybean oil futures fell by 0.20%. ICE raw sugar futures fell by 1.06%, while ICE white sugar futures rose by 0.92%. ICE arabica coffee futures fell by 5.49%, while coffee "C" futures fell by 2.87%. Robusta coffee futures fell by 6.16%. New York cocoa futures fell by 4.15%, closing at $8759 per ton. London cocoa futures fell by 3.31%. ICE cotton futures fell by 1.45%.
