Uber's subsidiary Careem co-founder and CEO Mudassir Sheikha announced on June 18 that due to "challenging macroeconomic realities, increasingly fierce competition, and global capital allocation," Careem will temporarily suspend its ride-hailing service in Pakistan on July 18.
