Currently, the number of second-hand car export enterprises in Hunan has increased to 58, covering passenger cars and commercial vehicles, including new energy vehicles and traditional gasoline vehicles. On June 17, Zhang Peng, Executive Vice Chairman of the International Trade Professional Committee of the Hunan Provincial Second-hand Car Circulation Association and General Manager of Zhuzhou Yitongda International Trade Co., Ltd., said in an interview that with the expansion of China's automobile industry and the increase in ownership, the potential of the second-hand car export market is huge, and the prospect of second-hand car exports in Hunan is promising. Data shows that since the pilot started in 2019, Chinese second-hand cars have been sold to more than 140 countries and regions worldwide, with exports increasing from 0.3 million vehicles in 2019 to 275,000 vehicles in 2023, and exceeding 400,000 vehicles in 2024. Pan Guoqiang, Secretary General of the Hunan Province Second-hand Car Circulation Association, introduced that based on the export share of the United States, Japan, and South Korea, as well as the demand in the global second-hand car market, China's second-hand car export scale is expected to reach 1.5 million vehicles per year in the near future, and it is predicted to surpass 500,000 vehicles this year.
