China Tower Chairman Zhang Zhiyong: The sharing rate of newly built towers reaches 85%, reducing industry investment by over 210 billion yuan.
During MWC25 in Shanghai, China Tower's Chairman Zhang Zhiyong gave a speech at the opening ceremony and keynote session. He shared the progress of China Tower in infrastructure: owning 2.1 million tower sites, with a total of 5.6 million base stations built, an average annual increase of 925,000 base stations, a new tower sharing rate of 85%, equivalent to over 1.22 million fewer towers built, reducing industry investment by over 210 billion yuan, and saving operating costs by over 180 billion yuan. He revealed that in addition to ground infrastructure, China Tower is also helping with the development of integrated networks in the air and space, already cooperating with low-altitude economy companies and satellite internet companies; and helping with digital services in underground shielding spaces, such as intelligent driving and parking, and underground navigation.
