Prior to the meeting, Trump posted on social media demanding Iran's "unconditional surrender" and threatening to potentially assassinate Iran's Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei. He posted on Truth Social, saying, "We know exactly where the so-called 'Supreme Leader' is hiding. It would be easy to take him out, but he is safe there - we will not remove him (kill him!) at least not now."
