Huaiji County in Guangdong Province initiates Level I flood prevention emergency response, and all primary and secondary schools in the county are suspended.
Due to heavy rainfall, several townships in Huaiji County, Zhaoqing City, Guangdong Province, experienced heavy rainstorms, and many rivers and streams have exceeded flood warning levels. The rainfall is expected to continue, posing high disaster risks and a severe flood prevention situation. In order to effectively respond to the current heavy rainfall, the Huaiji County Flood Control Headquarters has upgraded the flood response level from Level II to Level I emergency response starting from 19:00 on June 17th. People threatened by debris flow and geological disasters are being evacuated and resettled, and all primary and secondary schools and kindergartens in the county remain closed. As of 17:00 on the 17th, 19 townships in Huaiji County have been affected, with a total affected population of more than 78,000 and 29,000 people urgently evacuated for safety.
